It is with great pleasure and excitement that I make the announcement on behalf of Levego of our partnership with the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) of South Africa.
The partnership forms part of Levego’s corporate responsibility strategy and also serves to give our staff, client and customers an opportunity to join and get involved, both on a corporate and individual basis in the preservation of endangered species for generations to come.
The EWT is a non-governmental, non-profit, conservation organization, founded in 1973 and operating throughout southern and parts of east Africa. The EWT conserve threatened species and ecosystems in southern Africa by initiating research and conservation action programmes; implementing projects which mitigate threats facing species diversity; and supporting sustainable natural resource management.
To this end we have become directly involved in sponsoring and supporting the wild dog programme headed by Dr Kelly Marnewik. Through this relationship we will be linked directly to experts on the ground who will update us regularly on the wild dog’s movements and population dynamics etc.
The dogs are tracked by satellite and much of this information will be made available to Levego and its staff to allow us to be more aware of the great work that the EWT are involved with.
For more information on how to get involved and for more information on the great programmes and intiatives that the EWT are currently involved in please visit their website www.ewt.org.za
