Definitions
Success: Is working towards a good outcome, for our clients, the organisation, stakeholders and for every team member who makes up the Levego Family. This means going the extra mile, putting in effort and having high standards. Why is this important? If both Levego and our clients are happy, we will continue to retain clients and get more work through recommendations and we will be secure in times of hardship and a market leader in the field of environmental services. The individuals who contribute to this will also grow through new challenges, opportunities, and financial security.
Integrity: Is the practice of being honest and showing a consistent and unflinching standard to strong moral and ethical principles and values. We all “have integrity” to the extent that I (we) act and behave according to the values, beliefs, and principles we claim to hold. We walk the talk, do what we say we will. In practice this means we do not make promises and commitments lightly.
Trust: Is reliance on the other and ourselves, to do what we need to. This means that both I and others can have confident expectations that there will be a positive result and my and our expectations will be met. We have a firm belief in the character, strength, or truth in ourselves, team members, and the company to deliver to high standards, learn and have courageous conversations when necessary.
Growth: In Levego we have a hunger to learn, to get out of our comfort zones and be challenged. There is a real commitment to increase our knowledge and skills in more than one area, a deep desire to prosper, and develop individually as a team and with our stakeholders. It is a willingness to learn from feedback and mistakes and is the opposite of defensiveness and making excuses.
Fun: For us at Levego we strive to create light-hearted moments through amusement, or enjoyment. This can be a playful, boisterous action or speech. We take opportunities to celebrate others and our successes. A key ingredient of fun is that it is not at others’ expense.
Respect: Is a feeling of inner confidence and pride that is stimulated through good positive actions from individuals and teams. It is a positive stand out quality of someone or something. It is a willingness to see the potential, the good and value in others. Respect is something that is earned not demanded and is built through others seeing the value in you and your commitment to your fellow team members, work, and results.
Challenge: Is the willingness to act with courage and take on difficult tasks, conversations and projects, to risk not succeeding the first time and still keep on task. By challenging ourselves and others, we awaken our curiosity (enjoyment of learning, growing and high standards) and build our confidence by intentionally seeking out appropriate difficulties, and new opportunities.
We are different at Levego in that we measure ourselves by our commitment to our values.
Most corporate values usually stay on the wall gathering dust and having little or no impact on the day-to-day behaviour of the people who pass through. We seek to be better than the rest, so we will challenge ourselves to live these values in our actions and conversation. We will seek regular feedback from our peers, our partners, and our wider stakeholders in order to track our progress.
